Star wing player Marian Hossa was put on injured reserve before Tuesday’s game. Hossa played less than three minutes in their game on Dec.30 before exiting with what coach Joel Quenneville described as an upper-body injury. He was placed on I.R. retroactive to that date. Hossa has unquestionably been one the brightest stars for the Blackhawks this season. He hopes to return around the new year.
Injuries are one of the major story-lines for the Blackhawks so far. Hossa joins the list of players that included Johnathan Toews and goaltender Corey Crawford.
